API
An application programming interface (API) is a way for two or more computer programs to communicate with each other. It is a type of software interface, offering a service to other pieces of software. A document or standard that describes how to build or use such a connection or interface is called an API specification
Apple Maps
Apple Maps is a web mapping service developed by Apple Inc. The default map system of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, and watchOS, it provides directions and estimated times of arrival for driving, walking, cycling, and public transportation navigation.
Coordinates
Each business location in the physical world, except the locations on the same vertical line, has two unique numeric idenditifiers called coordinates. Navigation and map platforms processes those coordinates and places your storefront over the universal map.
Digital Map
Digital maps are developed by processing vast collections of data - compiled and formatted into a virtual image on a computer. Top examples are Google Maps, Apple Maps, Here Maps and Bing Places.
Digital Store Front
A Digital Storefront is the electronic representation of your business. It is the cornerstone of your brand on the digital platforms, navigation systems, social media platforms and etc.
Directory
Directories are websites that are listing individuals or organizations alphabetically or thematically with details such as names, addresses, and phone numbers. The mostly dont provide navigational features but only simple text and categories.

Google My Business is a tool that enables you to manage and optimize your Business Profile on Google. Users can boost their locations' visibility and improve effectiveness in reaching out to new customers.
Google Maps
Google Maps is a web mapping platform and consumer application offered by Google. It offers satellite imagery, aerial photography, street maps, 360° interactive panoramic views of streets, real-time traffic conditions, and route planning for traveling by foot, car, bike, air and public transportation.

Google Search (also known simply as Google) is a search engine provided by Google. Handling more than 3.5 billion searches per day, it has a 92% share of the global search engine market. It is also the most-visited website in the world.
Index Platform
Index platforms are the generic name given to any website, tool or platform that stores mass data, indexes and categorizes it to be accesses by users easily.
Listing
A listing is defined as the single digital representation of your location on just one platform. A business for example can have 1 location but this location can be visible on 10 different platforms therefore this business and this location now has 10 listings across the web.
Local Post
Local Posts are messages, news, offers, campaigns like in a typical social media posts but instead of being pushed under the brand page they are only visible under one specific or multiple specific location pages. Leading platforms like Google and Facebook are providing this method of boosting brands visibility on their own interfaces.
Local SEO
Local SEO is the practice of optimizing your website or location page for a specific local area. If you have a local business, like a shop, restaurant, or agency, you want your web pages or listings to rank high for certain search queries performed by a local audience. Optimizing the website of your local business is about making sure people can find you online and offline.
Location Claim
This is a mandatory action to take if your location is visible on mostly Google Maps but not claimed yet by you. Once you claim it with the right account , you will be able to promote this location listing much further.
Location Marketing
Location marketing allows organizations to target consumers at a granular, person level with online or offline messaging based on their physical location. Using location data, marketing teams are able to reach consumers based on qualifiers like proximity to a store, events happening in their region, and more.
Location Verification
Some platforms and map applications require certain processes to be fulfilled before verifying and publishing a specific location listing. Depending on the country and region, the verifacition method can be either by phone, email or a physical postcard.
Meta (Facebook) Brand Page
A brand page (also known as a page or fan page) is a profile on Facebook which is considered distinct from an actual user profile in that it is created and managed by a formal business and showcasing visual or text based content specific to this business.

Meta Business Suite is a one-stop shop where you can manage all of your marketing and advertising activities on Facebook and Instagram. It centralizes tools that help you connect with your customers on all apps and get better business results.
Meta (Facebook) Child Page
Child Pages are sub-pages managed under the main Facebook Business Page and are created basically to show detail information dedicated to business location that are listed under main profile.
Meta (Facebook) Stores
Stores is a specific tab and a feature provided under Meta Business Suite. Users can basically manage their locations manually from this panel.
Metrics - Customer Clicks
Customer take action by clicking on your digital storefront found on map platforms and basically follow 3 distinct clicks which are "Take Directions", "Call", "Visit Website" to learn more about your business, products and services.
Metrics - Impressions
An impression is a metric used to quantify the number of digital views or engagements of a piece of content, usually an advertisement, digital post, or a web page. One impression is equal to each occurrence of a web page, ad, or piece of content being found and loaded.
Metrics - Queries
It is the total amount of people who found you through a direct, indirect or a branded search.
Metrics - Views
The number of times your business or a specific location or a specific listing has been viewed in detail for the given time period. Different than impressions which only counts the displays.
Metrics- Rating
It is a type of customer review mostly given in stars element. Most directories give users to be able rate your business from 1 to 5 and the collection of those stars represent your performance. After some time your business will be given an average rating between 1 to 5.
Microsoft Bing
Bing Maps (previously Live Search Maps, Windows Live Maps, Windows Live Local, and MSN Virtual Earth) is a web mapping service provided as a part of Microsoft 's Bing suite of search engines and powered by the Bing Maps Platform framework. Since 2020 the map data is provided by TomTom.
Navigation System
A navigation system is a computing system that aids in navigation. Navigation systems may be entirely on board the vehicle or vessel that the system is controlling (for example, on the ship's bridge) or located elsewhere, making use of radio or other signal transmission to control the vehicle or vessel.
Online Visibility
When someone goes online and searches for something, you want them to be able to find you. When your business is visible, your content is more likely to get shared. You will be the go-to resource when someone searches for answers to a problem. So, the definition of visibility is your overall presence online.
POI
A point of interest (POI) is a specific point location that someone may find useful or interesting. An example is a point on the Earth representing the location of the Eiffel Tower, or a point on Mars representing the location of its highest mountain, Olympus Mons. Most consumers use the term when referring to hotels, campsites, fuel stations or any other distinctive point.
Review
Customers review your location or a specific listing by basically leaving a comment, placing a star rating, asking a question regarding anything they couldnt find on the information available.
Sentiment Analysis
Use of natural language processing, text analysis and computational linguistics to identify and extract subjective information in source materials. The customer reviews are mostly subject to this operation and it is mostly recommened to a business to understand how the customers felt the given experience at a specific location.
Social Media
Social media are interactive media technologies that facilitate the creation and sharing of information, ideas, interests, and other forms of expression through virtual communities and networks.
Software as a Service
Software as a service (SaaS) is a software licensing and delivery model in which software is licensed on a subscription basis and is centrally hosted. SaaS is also known as "on-demand software" and Web-based/Web-hosted software. Konoom platform is an example to that.
